Dopo le prime gare in Italia e Francia, anche nel Regno Unito le Paton hanno iniziato la stagione agonistica 2009, ed i risultati sono più che incoraggianti.

L'11e il 12 Aprile si è svolta a Pembrey la 1a tappa del Campionato CRMC 2009, e Steve Linsdell ha partecipato in sella alla sua Paton di "Squadra Corse C.M.M." alle gare del Trofeo N.O.C. 500 classificandosi 7°in entrambe le manche disputate il sabato e 6° nelle due manche di domenica, mentre nella classe National 500 (Summerfield Racing) ha concluso al 6° posto.

Ci spostiamo in Irlanda dove il 25 Aprile si è corso sullo stradale "Orritor Circuit" la "Cookstown 100": Steve Linsdell, dopo aver ottenuto il 13° tempo nelle prove cronometrate della "Classic Unlimited class" (fino a 1.000cc) svoltesi sotto la pioggia, grazie ad un' ottima partenza si è subito insediato al 2° posto, posizione che ha mantenuto fino al traguardo e che gli è valsa anche il 1° posto nella classe 500.

La settimana successiva ancora in pista, sempre in Irlanda per partecipare alla "Tandragee 100", altra famosa gara su circuito stradale. In questa occasione Steve ha ceduto il manubrio al figlio Oliver, che ha dimostrato nuovamente le sue ottime qualità anche nella classe "500 Classic" : pole position, nuovo giro record della categoria in 3'28''570  (portando la media sul giro a 92,235 mph contro le 88,333  mph del precedente primato), e vittoria finale infliggendo un distacco di 50'' al secondo classificato Neil McWhirter su Norton Manx.

Non c'è che dire, la preparazione in vista del Manx GP del prossimo mese di Settembre è iniziata...

Le Paton sono ora attese a Mettet (Belgio), per la prima gara della Serie IHRO 2009, il prossimo 9 e 10 Maggio.

 

After first races in Italy and France, Patons started their 2009 racing season in U.K. too, and results obtained are encouraging.

On 11th and 12th of April Pembrey played host to first 2009 CRMC Championship event, and Steve Linsdell entered  astride his "Squadra Corse C.M.M."'s Paton the N.O.C. 500 races finishing 7th in both the Saturday legs and 6th in both the Sundaay legs, while he finished 6th in the Summerfield Racing National 500 Class.

We move to Ireland, where along the road "Orritor Circuit" they raced the "Cookstown 100" event: Steve Linsdell, after qualifying 13th on wet conditions for the Classic Unlimited class (up to 1.000cc) with his Paton BIC 500, thanks to a fantastic start instantly gained the 2nd overall position, keeping it till the chequered flag and consequently winning the 500cc class.

The week after still on the tarmac, allways in Ireland for the "Tandragee 100", another famous road race.

This time Steve gave the Paton controls to his son Oliver, who showed again his excellent riding qualities on 500 Classic event too: pole position, new 3'28''570 category lap record (raising the lap average speed by 4 mph, from 88,333 mph to 92,235 mph), and overall win with 2nd classified Neil McWhirter, on his Manx Norton, 50'' behind.

Nothing to add, training for next September Manx GP has started........

Patons are now awaited in Mettet (Belgium), for the first 2009 IHRO Series race, next 9 and 10 of May.
